Obituary of Alice Stark

Alice Stark, 71, of Loudonville, NY died on Thursday evening, August 9, 2012 at the Albany Medical Center after a heroic struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in the Bronx, Alice was a graduate of CCNY where she earned her BA in chemistry. She later received her master's and doctorate degrees in epidemiology from Yale University. She was a professional epidemiologist and had been a Bureau Director for the NYS Health Dept. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Henry Stark and 2 beloved sons, Lawrence Stark of Chicago and Richard Stark of Loudonville. She is also survived by a brother, Allen Schwartz of Armonk, NY and a sister Marjorie Kleiger of New Paltz, NY. Sister-in- law of Edith Malkin of NYC. She was the cherished grandmother of Michael Carl Stark, Naomi Pogrund Stark and Jessica Anna Stark. Services at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, Fuller Road, Guilderland, NY on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1:00pm. Friends are respectfully invited to call at the Stark residence, 7 Orchard Grove in Loudonville, NY on Monday from 3-5pm. Those wishing to remember Alice in a special way may make a memorial contribution to either the Albany Medical College or the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Albany Medical Center.
