Obituary of Lillian K. Wasserman

 

Lillian K. Wasserman, age 88, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Florida. Lillian was smart, capable, and compassionate - she enjoyed life. Originally from Albany, New York, Lillian was a dedicated and talented teacher and spent over 40 years teaching at Bi-Cultural Day School in Stamford, Connecticut. Lillian loved Israeli folk dancing, reading, keeping up with local and world news, volunteering, and socializing with friends and family. Her retirement in Florida was sunny and happy. 

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Nathan and Fannie Kaminsky, who arrived in NY from Chabna, Russia in 1922. Lillian was also predeceased by her brother Morris Kaminsky and sister Shirley Kaminsky Bergman. Lillian is survived by her three daughters Hinda Rosenbaum and her husband Jack, of Boca Raton, Florida; Sara Ward and her husband Robert, of North Palm Beach, Florida; and Rivka Lieber and her husband Dan, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lillian's greatest joy was her five grandchildren: Joey, Liz, Sammy, Rachel and Nathan. Lillian was loved by many, including her wonderful nieces and nephews. 

Services were held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany, New York on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2:00pm. Internment will follow in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery at 260 Fuller Road, Albany, New York. Donations in Lillian's memory may be made to Bi-Cultural Day School, 2186 High Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06903.

Shiva will be held in Stamford, Connecticut, and in Florida.
