Obituary of Mildred Dashew

 



Mildred Dashew, age 102,  died  November 27  at Schenectady Center Nursing home surrounded by her family.
 Born in New York City January 6, 1915, the daughter of Irving and Yetta 
Dornstein,  she grew up in New York and worked as an executive secretary in the Garment District.
She married Frank Dashew in 1948, and moved to Liberty, NY , where she lived for many years, working as a homemaker and school aide. In 1984, she and Frank moved
to the Capital District to be closer to family.  Frank died in 2006.
Mildred is survived by one son Jeff (Elaine) of Niskayuna, two grandchildren Jason (Lindsay) and Brian (Brad) and two great- granchildren, Avery and Ben.
Mildred was a loyal friend, an avid reader,  and a wonderful  baker.
Graveside services will be held at Congregation Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Watt St. Schenectady, Sunday December 3 at 1PM. 
A period of mourning will be observed at 7 PM on Dec. 3 at  2237 Van Rensselaer Dr. in Niskayuna
