Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I knew the Phaff family in the 1970's while I lived in Albany. I always loved the spirit of our Jewish faith and love of Israel with Ruth and her family.
May you be comforted with your memories.

Deepest sympathies to a most wonderful family and community of her friends.
You are Ruth's amazing legacy, and we don't need the word "May" in the phrase "May her memory be a blessing"... It is now, and always will be.
Dayan Ha'Emet.

I will always remember Ruth as a true Eshet Chayil, a woman who was an amazing role model balancing the nurturing of her children and helping Leo in their partnership together to make the Jewish community in Albany a strong one. Leo's vision for a day school (Bet Shraga) and Hebrew speaking summer day camp (Givah) was supported over the years by Ruth. Temple Israel and the Albany Jewish Community has lost a true genuine Tzadeket. May her memory endure as the blessing she was to her family and community.

I had the pleasure of training Ruth at the Alnany JCC several years ago. She was smart, sharp, and made me laugh during our sessions. What a wonderful lady. May she Rest In Peace.

My most profound condolences to Leo on the loss of his dear Ruth. The Phaffs... particularly Leo...played a huge role in my earliest memories of Temple Israel and of what it meant to be a selfless leader in the Jewish community. Growing up in Temple Israel meant looking up to the towering figures of Leo Geiger, Herman Kieval, Herb Feder, Phil Arian, the Rudolfs, and of course Leo Phaff.
Remembering so many wonderful times and feeling so blessed to have been in their company. May HaShem embrace Ruth and bless Leo and his entire family!
