Dear Jon's Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. The world has lost one of the truly good people with his passing.
I went to high school with Jon and had the good fortune of sharing a last name starting with the same letter because that meant I sat next to him often in class and got to be his partner on some school assignments and projects. He graduated 30 seconds before me and held it over my head. :-) He was just such an easygoing, friendly guy and he was smart and fun to be around. And most of all he was nice to me. In high school! We didn't stay in touch after senior year but he taught me a lot about friendship and about being a good person just by watching his example. I am thankful for his short presence in my life and will not forget his kindness and genuine nature and his ability to be fully present in life. So happy to learn he also has such a beautiful family. All of you must be wonderful both inside and out -- I have no doubt.

In addition to being a great guitar player, Jon was an incredible poet. He could probably fine words that would be appropriate, but I can't. My lasting memory of Jon will be our "listening parties," where we'd have a couple beers, play some pre-selected music for each other... and invariably end up talking over it!
