Obituary of Chana Naparstek

Chana Naparstek, , 97, passed away on June 30.2012 She was the youngest of eight children and was born August 13, 1914 in Poland. She was a holocaust survivor who was raised in Belgium and spent World War II hiding in a convent in France. She moved to Israel after the war where she met her husband Chaim and had her first born son Michael. She later moved to the United States in 1956 where she gave birth to her second son, Nathan. She was extremely devoted to her family and amazed all that knew her with her incredibly sharp mind and memory for details. She was a very determined person who was independent and self sufficient until days before her passing. She was also a self educated woman who was fluent in five languages. Chana was predeceased by her husband Chaim and son Michael. She is survived by her son, Nathan, daughter in law, Denise, and grandchildren, Eli (fiance Lindsey Flaxer), Rachel, & Joey.. She was a unique and special person that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in St. Albans, Queens on Sunday afternoon July 1st. The will be a shiva minyan at the home of Denise and Nathan Naparstek, 906 Northumberland Drive in Niskayuna, NY on Monday and Tuesday evenings, July 2 and July 3 at 7pm.
