Obituary of Ronald Klein

Ronald B. Klein, 71, of Latham, passed peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Ron was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Jack Klein. Born in Cohoes, NY, Ron lived his entire life in the Capital Region. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School and attended Bryant College in Rhode Island. Ron began his career working in his family’s business, Cohoes Tobacco Company. He then went on to operate Ron-Mar Distributors, a business which he co-owned with his wife, Marilyn. In the latter part of his career, Ron worked in automotive sales at various Capital Region dealerships. Ron was a lifelong avid fan of the New York Giants, Yankees, Rangers, and Knicks. Ron also enjoyed attending Saratoga Race Track, going to the movies, watching his favorite television shows and eating out with his family. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Marilyn (Scher), son David (Megan) of Niskayuna and daughter Sara Bonder (Moshe) of Loudonville. Ron especially enjoyed spending time with his family including his granddaughters Eliana & Taryn Klein and Ella Bonder, all of whom brought him great joy. In addition, Ron is survived by his brother Richard of West Palm Beach, Florida, dear cousin Richard Barnett of Arizona, brothers in law Paul (Elaine) and Martin (Barbara) Scher of Albany, NY and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road, Albany on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Ron in a special way may consider making a memorial contribution to The American Heart Association or a charity of their choosing. The period of mourning will be observed at the Bonder residence, 30 Pheasant Ridge Drive, Loudonville: Thursday 6-8, Friday 2-4 and Saturday 7-9 The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Reid Muller of the Advanced Heart Disease Center at St. Peter’s Hospital and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Albany Medical Center.
