Obituary of Edith K. Green

Edith Green, age 98 of Albany, New York died on Saturday evening, November 12, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, She will now join her loving husband Bob and her Mother, Belle. Born in Pittsfield, Ma., Edith was an Albany resident most of her life. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Edith also kept up on current events and politics. She had been affiliated with the family business Green’s Office Outfitters in Albany. Edith was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth and their sisterhood in Albany Edith was married to Robert Green for 55 years until his passing in 2002 Loving Mother of Jim Green and his wife Chris and Peter Green both of Albany. Grandmother of Nathan Averill. She was the aunt of Bill and Richard Nathan and leaves several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nephew, Tom Nathan. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at the Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm at the Mendleson Chapel on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville, NY with interment to follow in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Edith in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road Albany, NY 12208.
