Obituary of Natalie Tinkelman
Natalie Tinkelman age 95 died on November 6, 2016..(born Natalie Greece) was an amazing woman. She was born in Manhattan, went to Brooklyn College, studied biology, and worked in vaccine labs during World War II. She later earned two masters degrees in education, worked in the Albany schools for over twenty years, raised three boys, had a happy marriage for fifty years, and lived life on her own terms. She swam regularly at the JCC, was an expert photographer, traveled the world, read the NY Times every day, and worked the crossword puzzles like a champ. She mopped the floor with nearly everyone in Scrabble and loved opera and wine. She also loved her family, more than anything. And her family loved her.
Natalie is survived by sons Robert, David, and Daniel Tinkelman, Suad Noah, Sara Tinkelman and Deborah Kapell; grandchildren Lia Festenstein and Joshua, Amanda, Joseph, Gabriel, Susana, Eli and Rebecca Tinkelman; and great-grandchildren Jacob and Jonah Tinkelman, Emily, Dylan, and Jack Festenstein, Isaac and Shira Le, and Evelyn Chatman.
There will be a memorial service at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Tuesday November 8th, at 11 a.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the Jewish Community Center in Albany.
