Our condolences go to Dr. Dougherty's family. We are so sorry for his passing away. Dr. Dougherty and Rita were like our parents taking care of us while we were in New York. We still remember his kindness and love for us. Both Dr. Dougherty and Rita will be missed and always in our hearts.

Doc truly was a giant among men. He touched everyone he encountered. Some might say he was an angel sent to inspire us all. I learned so much by having fantastic conversations with him.
I hear him all the time echoing in my head. Though his physical body has left us what he left behind will live on forever. He touched me, and I was blessed to know and love him.
His family knows they were lucky to have him at the helm. As for the rest of us, having time with him was a remarkable happening. Thank you Doc for being you and enriching us all.
Love, Cam

To the family of Dr Dougherty my heart goes to you for your lost of such a wonderful man, father and physician. Dr Dougherty saved my Mom's life, Jessie Leonardo, more then once, for that I will be enterally grateful. He set my one and only broken arm when I was 16 after a car accident. He was to me a gentle giant....He came into our Delmar Bootery in Delmar and taught my Mom how to do heel excavations the he wanted us to do them. Ironic ,he passed away the same day my Mom left this world, my Mom die on Nov.2, 2001.
My sincere sympathies are with you all.

Jim Dougherty was my doctor, my friend, and one of the nicest people I have ever known. I have tried to check on him over the years he was in Florida through Jonathan, and am so saddened by the thought of him being gone. Although my sadness does not compare with what I know his family is feeling, it is nevertheless devestating. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To the Dougherty family,
Our condolences to each and every one of you. We thank you for inviting us as guests for Jim's ninetieth party. His main questions to us were in regard to SARPA, its present status and its future. We reassured him that all was well. Although he was holding his own mentally, we knew it was the last time we would see him.
We so much appreciated Carol's call regarding his passing. Unfortunately, I could barely talk with her because of my state of grief, trying unsuccessfully to hold back my tears.
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have had Jim as a friend. He will be missed by many, but some of us will miss him deeply.
Bless you all,
Dick and Shirley.
