Obituary of Alan Posner
Alan I. Posner, 80, of Niskayuna, beloved husband of Ann S. Posner, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2016.
Alan was born in Brooklyn, on August 10, 1935, and son of Nathan and Inda Posner. Alan grew up in Boro Park and attended Etz Chaim Jewish day school, was a graduate of Alfred University and earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He was an anesthesiologist with Schenectady Anesthesia Associates at Ellis and St. Claire’s hospitals in Schenectady, NY.
While in Chicago, Alan met and married his wife, Ann. Alan lived in Japan for two years while practicing medicine for the Air Force. After returning to the States, and a brief time in Tenafly, NJ, Alan moved to Schenectady in 1968, where he made his home for the rest of his life. Alan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann, and is survived by his three children, Deborah (Sean Schwartz), David (Karl Posner-Jeffries), and Erik (Helen Carroll); and six grandchildren, Natalie, Madeline, Ezra Ray, Winston, Michael and Nathan.
Alan was a long-time member and strong supporter of Congregation Agudat Achim. Alan enjoyed folk music, cycling, photography, hiking, and making ice cream with his grandchildren.

Services at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street Schenectady, NY on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 3:00pm. Interment will be held on Tuesday at the New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY on Tuesday, July 26 at 2:00pm.
