Obituary of William Garber
William Garber age 92 of Clifton Park, New York died on Tuesday morning, July 12, 2016 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Brooklyn, NY, William was a Navy veteran and served during World War II. He was a graduate of Purdue University and had been employed for many years as a mechanical engineer for General Electric in Schenectady. He was later, the co owner of the former Coplon’s Department Store in Schenectady and had been employed at the Watervliet Arsenal as well. Mr. Garber was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim and served as Past President of the synagogue.
He is survived by his loving wife, Estelle Davis Garber, and his children, Elissa Hyman ( James) of Stamford, Ct, Daniel Garber ( Susan Paul) of Princeton, NJ, and Raymond Garber of Houston, Texas. He also leaves 8 grandchildren. William was predeceased by his son, Gerald Garber.
