Obituary of Natalie Margolis
Natalie Wekselman Margolis died at home on Friday, June 24th. Natalie was born on June 14, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a daughter of the late Philip and Evelyn Wekselman. Natalie’s career pursuits included nursing education and staff development. During her long career, she worked as Director of the Schools of Nursing at Community Hospital in Springfield, Ohio and Albany Memorial Hospital and as an adjunct professor of allied health services at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She was also an active member of Congregation Gates of Heaven in Schenectady.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Margolis in 1996 and her son, Daniel Wayne Margolis in 1970. Survivors include her sister, Barbara Goleman, her children, Anne Margolis , Ruth Yorker (Thomas), Rachel Maryn (Michael) and Jonathan Margolis She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eve, Sarah and Alissa Maryn.
Services will be held on Monday, June 27th at 10:00am at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue Schenectady with burial immediately following at Congregation Gates of Heaven Cemetery on Watt Street. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Community Service Corps at Congregation Gates of Heaven. The period of mourning will be observed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7pm at the Margolis residence, 551C Sand Creek Road in Colonie.
