Obituary of Nancy Sloman

Albany, New York Nancy A Sloman, 66, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in St. Peters Hospice. Nancy was born on May 12, 1950 in Albany to the late Pearl and Al Sloman of Albany, formerly of Hudson, NY. Nancy graduated from Albany High in 1968 and later from Cobleskill College majoring in Horticulture and specializing in floral design. She moved to Southern California in 1985 to be near her dear and lifelong friend, Jan Rapoport Hunt until she returned to Albany in 2009. While in California, she worked as the top floral designer in one of the finest floral shops in Anaheim. She was extremely creative whether it was working with flowers, needle point, knitting, crocheting or making jewelry. Nancy will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laugh, her loyalty, kindness and her courage to overcome the many obstacles in her path. She is survived and loved by her brother Larry Sloman (Michele), niece Dana Kamer (Danny) Dana’s children Avi and Adina and her nephew Michael Sloman (Nancy), Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson, NY. Friends may call at Nancy’s home, 14 Grove Avenue in Albany on Wednesday after 6pm and on Thursday as well after 5pm.
