Obituary of Philip Podhoretz

Philip Podhoretz Schenectady - Philip Podhoretz, 86, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, following a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Ada; his daughter, Penny Rosen; and son-in-law, Dave; and his three grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary and Jolie. Born and raised in Schenectady, he was the son of Sam and Anna Podhoretz. He was born on January 13, 1930, and was raised along with his five siblings. Philip was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and an all around great man. He was the co-founder of Parker Marks Company, an HVAC company out of Schenectady, NY. He enjoyed his work and continued working up until the day he passed. Never shy, he would always say how he felt when he felt it. Every night before bed, he would ask his wife, “Ada, do you know how much I love you?” He will be remembered as a simple man who would constantly talk about his family to anyone who would listen. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at Beth Israel Cemetery Upper Chapel (off Hamburg St.) in Rotterdam, Schenectady. The cemetery is located on Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam off of Hamburg Street
