Obituary of Lois Facher

SHORT HILLS N.J. Lois Furshman Facher passed away peacefully on February 25, 2016. A graveside service will be held at the Temple B'nai Abraham Cemetery, 2600 Rte. 22, Union, N.J. at 12 p.m. on Sunday, February 28. Born September 25, 1926 in Bayonne, N.J., Lois resided in Maplewood and Short Hills, N.J. for much of her life. She was a graduate of New York University where she earned her degree in social work. She was a member of Temple B'nai Abraham and strong supporter of United Jewish Federation. She was a woman with strong convictions who stood up for what she believed in and never hesitated to say what she was thinking. She used many wonderful Yiddish expressions to convey her thoughts. Lois was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lois was the beloved wife of Marvin for 62 years; the cherished mother of Marcy Schwartz and Lauren Iselin and their spouses, Mark and Harold; and the loving grandmother of Evan,(Chrissy) Glenn, and Dana Schwartz and David, Alex and Michael Iselin, and her great-granddaughters, Isla and Ellie Schwartz. She will be deeply missed. The family requests that contributions in Lois' memory be made to Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Rd, Albany, NY 12208. The period of mourning will take place at the Iselin residence on Monday evening, February 29, from 7-9 p.m. -
