Obituary of Joanne Miriam Stillman

Joanne Miriam Arnow Stillman died Monday February 1, 2016, she was 71 years old. Joanne was born in Abington, PA but spent most of her life in Schenectady, NY and the last several years in Boca Raton Florida. Joanne was a teacher in the Schenectady Public Schools for over 23 years and was an owner of a jewelry store in Boca Raton Florida for 17 years. Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Philip Stillman, her children Nate Stillman, wife Lesley Stillman and daughter Liz Stillman, grandchildren Addison Stillman, Samantha Stillman and step grandchildren Noah and Payton Beider, her brothers Burt Arnow and Herschel Arnow, Brother in-law Steven Stillman and sister in laws Barbara Arnow and Naomi Arnow along with several nieces and nephews. Joanne was happiest surrounded by her family, she had a very dry sense of humor and her children thought she was one of the funniest people around. Joanne was often quoted as saying “People are either half glass full or half glass empty, Joanne was just happy having a glass” Funeral Services for Joanne will be held at Agudat Achim Synagogue, 2117 Union Street, Niskayuna, NY 12309 at 11am. on Friday, February 5th Interment to follow service at Congregation Agudat Achim Cemetery, Schmerhorn Street, Rotterdam, NY.
