Obituary of Victor S. Rosenthal

Victor S. Rosenthal, age 97 of Albany, NY died on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany. Victor was born on January 22, 1919 in New York City, the oldest child of Eva and Jacob Rosenthal. After moving to Albany, he attended PS # 27 and then Albany High School where he met his future wife, Dottie Pinkert. They were married for 58 years. In addition to his parents and his wife Dottie, he was predeceased by his siblings, Anita Lidman and Alex Rosenthal. Victor is survived by his daughters, Rita York ( late Robert) and Donna Richman (late Henry) and son David (Carol) Rosenthal. Victor also leaves his grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Cohen of Slingerlands, Shannon (Harold) Bastiani of Altamont, Dana (David) Lazowski of Brookline, Massachusetts, Eric ( Melissa) Richman of Robbinsville, New Jersey, Jennifer (Jon) Michalski of Clifton Park and Stefanie Rosenthal of Latham. Great grandfather of Jessica and Ashley Cohen, Clayton and Jordan Bastiani, Michela, Ari and Jenna Lazowski, Aubrey Richman and Nicholas Michalski Victor was a workaholic all his life and had owned and operated the former Quail Linen and Uniform Company in Albany retiring in 1977. He was very successful in the business community, doing all he could to provide the life he wanted for his family. Work was his answer to providing love and security. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 1:30pm. Friends and relatives are invited and may visit with the family at Levine Memorial Chapel commencing at 1:00pm. Interment will follow services in the Temple Israel Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY. Those wishing to remember Victor in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
