Nan-linda and i were so saddened to hear of Ron's passing. My only contact with Ron was the Soup KItchen and the weekly lunches i would have with him and Joe Bierman for Soup Kitchen prep.Lunch was always fun.Ron was always optimistic and in good spirits and had great solutions for problems that would appear. What a gift to have.He will be greatly missed.

Dear Nan, Matt & Julie,
We are so saddened by Ron's much too-soon passing. Your family's loss is shared by so many of Ron's tremendous network of friends. Ron left an indelible legacy of friendship and concern for others in the greater Albany community. We were so fortunate to be part of it. Filling Ron's great "shoes" will be next to impossible, but we are also blessed to share his gifts in helping keep his memory alive.
With much love and good wishes always, Don & Bea, and Sorelle

Scott, Jonah, Micah, and I send our love and condolences to Nan, Matt, Julie, and the rest of the family. Ron was famous in my household when I growing up in California as he was the matchmaker who introduced my parents. I heard many stories about what a terrific friend he was to my dad and wonderful cousin he was to my mom. My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary in June 2015; he indeed was a dear cousin and friend to them both and I thank him for setting them up on that now infamous blind date. I feel fortunate that I had the pleasure of getting to know Ron once I moved to the east coast. Ron was always warm, engaging, kind, and thoughtful. He was a real mensch and the world was a better place because he was in it. Our hearts are heavy in Silver Spring, Maryland and know that we share your sorrow.

I now live in Vermont and have not seen Ron recently. I was stunned when my son showed me the Times Union and Ron's obituary.
I very much enjoyed Ron's friendship even though I never won a single game of squash over him.
To me, Ron epitomized a truly honest gentleman and someone who I had a great deal of respect for. It is hard to believe that he has passed and I will always value and enjoy memories of our friendship.
I give my condolences to Nan and his two children. May you always have wonderful memories of your husband and your father. Harvey Alpart
