Obituary of Melvin Goldman

Melvin Goldman, “Pops” age 88 of the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, NY died on Saturday evening, December 12, 2015. Born in the Bronx. Mel had been employed for many years by the New York State Thruway Authority retiring in 1992. He was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham Jacob in Albany and Albany City Lodge # 540 Knights of Pythias. He was an avid bowler and loved the Yankees He was also a Navy veteran and served during World War 2 Melvin was predeceased in 2014 by his wife, Rebecca ( Ricky) Goldman. Loving Father of Glenn Goldman and his wife, Maryclaire Hassett of Clifton Park, NY and Amy Gerling and her husband Mark of Albany. Grandfather of Adam Gerling. Mel was the uncle of Adrienne Harris, Michael Harris, Donna Greenberg, Gary Bernstein, Diane Greenberg, Howard Hirsch and William Bernstein . Mel was predeceased by his sister, Selma Hirsch and sister-in – law, Anne Harris. Services at the Beth Abraham Jacob Cemetery, Western Avenue Guilderland, NY on Tuesday.
