Obituary of Stewart N. Linsey

Stewart N. Linsey, age 84, of Niskayuna, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Erie, Pa., Stewart was the son of the late Daniel and Minnie Lobel Linsey. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict and was a Niskayuna resident at the time of his death. He attended Albany Business College and was property administrator for GE for 40 years, the last three years at KAPL. Stewart's interests included softball, basketball, bowling, Las Vegas vacations, visiting his children and grandchildren as well as cruises. He was a well known softball pitcher in Schenectady, once winning 21 straight games including two no hitters for Furlani's. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Leinseider Linsey. Father of Gary Linsey and his wife Janet of Glastonbury, Conn. and Terry Linsey and her husband Tom Wolf of Acton, Mass. Grandfather of Kevin and Shannon Linsey and Jenna and Nathan Wolf. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Linsey. Graveside services at the Agudat Achim Cemetery on Schermerhorn Street in Rotterdam on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, at the Linsey residence from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
