Obituary of Pearl Siegel

Pearl Siegel, died on Friday, October 16, 2015, three days after her 94th birthday, at her residence in Atlantis, Fl. Born in New York City, she lived in Brooklyn until her marriage to Archie Siegel in 1953 when she relocated to Albany, NY. Pearl had been a Capital District resident for many years before moving to Atlantis, FL with Archie. She was a long time member of Congregation Beth Emeth and its Sisterhood in Albany. Pearl was a competitive bridge player, an avid reader, loved traveling and enjoyed cooking Pearl, the daughter of the late Julius and Ida Kastein, was married to Archie Siegel until his passing in 1984. She is survived by two sons, J. Peter (Harriet) Siegel of Albany and Harlan C. (Mary Ann) Siegel of Latham, NY, as well as her sisters, Lotta Rubin of West Palm Beach, Fl, and Sonia Strauss of Cincinnati, OH. She was the grandmother of Eric (Jennifer) Siegel, Margery (Francis) Carmody, Scott Siegel, Sean Siegel, and Michaela (Kevin) Schwenzfeier, and the great grandmother of Jane Siegel and Peter Carmody. Services will be at 12 noon on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Mendleson Chapel, located l on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville NY. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Pearl in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road Albany, NY 12208 or a charity of one’s choice.
