Steve was my best bud beginning in Junior High School at Milne and into high school. He taught me, amongst other things, how to play the guitar and how to palm a cigarette as we smoked outside the school and right under the window of the principal'so office. He also taught me how to shoot pool but never taught me enough to be able to beat him.
Steve was the guitarist in the first band I ever joined, along with Andy Shawn and Mike Della Choppa.
I use to accompany Steve on his afternoon paper route (yes there use to be an evening paper) where we would talk and address the important issues of the day: Stones vs. Beatles. The route woulld conveniently situated end at Bruce Atkin's house where we would listen to Bruce's then fave band, Paul Revere and the Raiders.
We drifted apart but would, until our later year, regularly get back together. Steve was the first person I reconnected with when I first came back from Colorado.
The last time I saw him he taught me how to play "The Warmth of ther Sun" which I think it is time to go listen to now.
Thanks for all the smiles and memories.
R.I.P pal.

My sincerest condolences to the family. Steve was one of my first mentors with the bank and he somehow made the long hours of reviewing the banks finances fun. He often spoke with such love for his family and always enjoyed sharing pictures of his grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this.Steve and and I were "best friends" in the fullest sense of the words between the ages of 11 to 17 or so. Our formative years were spent together. We were inseparable from the age of 12 to 16. During that time he was the brother I didn't have. There is not enough time or space to recapture all of our childhood adventures. They ranged from our times at Temple Beth Emeth, to Camp Nassua,to hours of bike riding(he was on the crossbar got his feet in the spokes and what a crash it was, naturally we got up cut bruised and LAUGHING!)to our mutual love of music. He progressed on guitar much quicker than I .I was struggling, what was I to do? He was my best friend so 14 year old logic being what it is the guitar has 6 strings the Bass has 4 try that, so I did. Steve and I began on our music adventure together. The Shocking Electras was our first group. The business cards done in print shop...VERY IMPORTANT! He was very bright very sweet very funny very kind very generous very good. He was MY BEST FRIEND in the most formative time of life. He will always be with me

Dear friends. I am so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. I remember him fondly from my years at Bank of America. He always had a friendly word, great to talk to. He captained a band in a "Battle of the Bands" in NY City perhaps a decade ago that, we thought would go on till the THIRD coming! (I think they were 2nd).
I am very sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy and we will all miss him. My thanks for Kaki Quinlan, one of our Senior Ops Managers, for posting Steve's obit via Libris' private Facebook page. God be with you all in this difficult time.

Larry & Family, Please accept my condolences, I'm heartbroken. I learned so much about playing in a rhythm section from Steve and Jerry. We always had fun. I can still remember picking him up on Davis Ave. for gigs and he'd come out of the house wearing a half a bottle of Aramis cologne and your suede coat. Such great memories. RIP Stevie.
