Obituary of Shirley R. Nelick
Shirley Nelick, age 97 of Wellington, Florida died of natural causes on August 24, 2015. Shirley was born in Schenectady, New York to the late-Morris and Jenny Polansky. She graduated from Albany High School and Russell Sage College. She married the late Samuel Nelick of Troy, New York in 1939 and lived in Troy until 1979 when she and her husband moved first to Ft. Lauderdale and then to Wellington, Florida
. She was the beloved mother of Stephen Nelick of Washington DC, Susan Reinhold of New York City and the late Sheri Novick of Delray Beach, Florida. She was also the loving grandmother of Berkeley Reinhold and Adam Nelick and mother-in-law to Kathleen Nelick, John Reinhold and Robert Brown. Shirley was an avid and highly-accomplished bridge player, winning tournaments well into her 90s. She was a devoted homemaker while her husband grew a small second-hand furniture store into the well-known and highly esteemed Nelick's Furniture with his brother Irving She traveled extensively with her husband in the United States and Europe and lived a long life filled with much love and beautiful memories.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at the Beth El Cemetery on Belle Avenue in Troy, NY.
