Posner, Ann S NISKAYUNA
Ann S. Posner, 79, of Niskayuna, beloved wife of Alan I. Posner, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2015 with her loving husband, children and grandchildren by her side.
Ann was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on June 25, 1936, and was the daughter of the late William “Cotton” and Lois Hays Stewart. Ann graduated from University of Illinois with a Masters Degree in Microbiology. While in Chicago, she met and married her husband, Alan Posner. Ann lived in Japan for two years, before returning to the States to live in New Jersey. In 1968, Ann moved to Niskayuna where she raised her family. Ann is survived by her husband, Alan, her three children, Deborah (Sean Schwartz), David (Karl Posner-Jeffries), and Erik (Helen Carroll), and six grandchildren, Natalie, Madeline, Rachael, Winston, Michael and Nathan.
Ann was a violinist and Suzuki violin teacher for many years. She was a member of the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra, Music Study Group, and Etude Club. She enjoyed her music, ensemble friends, and the many students that she taught over many years.
The funeral service will be held at Congregation AgudatAchim, 2117 Union St, Schenectady, NY, at 1pm on Monday. Burial will be at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY, at 2pm on Tuesday.
