Obituary of Henrietta Schaffer
Henrietta Schaffer, age 100 of Albany died Monday, June 29, 2015 at her residence. Born in Albany, on December 15, 1914, she was a lifetime Albany resident. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah Koblintz Pock. She was married to Benjamin Schaffer until his passing in May 1986. She was predeceased by her brother Abram Pock and sisters Bertha Tafler and Miriam Jaffee all of Albany. She was also predeceased by her niece, Beth Jennifer Jaffee of Manhattan. and Westboro, Massachusetts.
Henrietta is survived by a daughter, Evelyn J. Schaffer and a son Jay Z. Schaffer both of Albany. She is also survived by nephews, James Israel (Iris) of Latham, NY, David Israel
( Anna Sue) of Roslyn Harbor, NY , nieces, Susan Tafler ( Charles Koplik) of Lexington, Massachusetts, Lea Caplan ( Sandy) of Great Neck, New York . Also survived by her sister-in law, Doris Freedman Pock and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She had been a life member of Na’Amat.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Hebrew Tailors Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland.
