Obituary of Philip Drapkin

Philip Drapkin 92, died on May 17, 2015 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. Phil was a lifelong Albany resident. He was trained as a Pharmacist and worked for many years at Chazan’s in Albany. He was a painter, active in the local artists community. He showed his artwork in several major Albany area shows. Phil and his late wife Bea enjoyed world travel, especially in their retirement years. Phil was a World War II veteran serving in Italy. He is survived by Stephen and Eunice Chalmers, his niece Karen Carrick and nephew Dr. Clifford Faber and their families. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cindy, Ryan and Michael and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Beatrice Drapkin. A graveside service will held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 20, 2015 in the Temple Israel Cemetery, Western Avenue, Guilderland, New York. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Institute of History and Art, 125 Washington Avenue, Albany 12210.
