Obituary of Risa Ann Kassoff
Risa Ann (Krouner) Kassoff passed away suddenly on May 2, 2015. Born in Albany, she attended public schools and graduated from Albany High School. She graduated from Cornell University Hotel School which she took advantage of by hosting frequent dinners with friends and family at her home. Her flair and her appreciation of natural beauty were expressed in her magnificent gardens both at her home in Albany and her Adirondack cabin. While her passion was horticulture and floral arrangements, she developed an increasing love of photography, which provided much pleasure as her creative pictures graced her home. They often appeared on her greeting cards, which always surprised and delighted recipients.
The many travels at home and abroad that Risa and her husband Aaron experienced afforded them the opportunity to share briefly in being part of other cultures and to experience ideas that changed their perspective of who they are, who they have been and would aspire to become.
In addition to her husband, Aaron, of 55 years, she is survived by her children Jory Kassoff and his wife Leona Kassoff, Tara Kassoff Gold, and Shana Kassoff Strasser and her husband Mickey Strasser. As well, she was the beloved grandmother of the stars in her sky -- Sasha and Maya Kassoff, Ethan and Halle Gold, and Evan Strasser. She is also survived by her brothers Paul (Linda) and Dan (Arlene) Krouner.
