Obituary of Frances Eisenhandler
Frances Baranow Eisenhandler, age 94 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany died on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the nursing home. Born in Philadelphia, Frances was raised in the Bronx. She has been a Capital District resident for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Frances had been involved with the North Bethlehem Fire Department, the Drama Workshop at the Jewish Community Center and the City of Rensselaer Senior Citizens. She volunteered for more than 30 years in the pediatric department at the Albany Medical Center.
Frances was married to Sidney Eisenhandler until his passing. She is survived by a son, Evan
( Beth) Eisenhandler of Poestenkill, NY , a daughter, Rosanne ( Ira) Dawer of Montville, NJ.and a brother, Sol Baranow of Byram Township, NJ and grandchildren, Judah, Mark, Paul, Jessica, Leah and Janice. Great grandmother of Maeve ,Jude, Ian, and Jacob. Frances was predeceased by her siblings, Minna Wilensky and Charlotte Immerman as well as her son, Joel Eisenhandler and 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Micah Eisenhandler,
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 12 noon.. Interment will follow in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery in Albany. Those wishing to remember Frances in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Avenue Ext. Albany, NY 12203 or the North Bethlehem Fire Department, 589 Russell Road, Albany, NY 12203. The period of mourning will be observed on Friday following the service of interment at the residence of Judah Eisenhandler, 19 Henry Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 and on Sunday, May 3rd and Monday, May 4th at the residence of Rosanne and Ira Dawer, 6 Peach Tree Drive, Montville, NJ.
