Obituary of Henry Linett

Henry “Hank” Linett, age 97 of Glenmont, NY died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany. Born in Albany, Hank was a lifelong resident. He was a 1936 graduate of Albany High School, and later received his Bachelors degree in physical education from NYU and his master’s degree from SUNY Albany. Hank was a Navy veteran and served during World War II. He was a physical education teacher at Hackett High School in Albany for more than 30 years. Hank was also a licensed acupuncturist and hypnotist and was a co owner of Healthplex in Clifton Park, NY. He was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany and had been the President of Ridgefield Park in Albany. Hank was an accomplished tennis player and also served as an umpire for USTA. He was the recipient of Eastern Tennis Association, tennis family of the year award. Hank was married to Helen Koretz Linett until her passing in 1984. He leaves his children, Penny ( Ron) Lippman of Albany, Jill Peterson ( Cliff) of Glenmont, NY and Larry Linett ( Debbie) of Wilmington , North Carolina. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren as well as a brother, Jack Linett of Toronto, Canada Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonvillle, NY.
