Obituary of Leonard Bock

Leonard Bock,age 84, died on Tuesday evening, May 8, 2012, at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, Albany, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Bock served honorably in the Coastguard stationed in the Philippines. Leonard was an avid fisherman and an extraordinary gardener. He left Brooklyn for Connecticut and established what became a 30-year career as an electrical engineer for BurndyCorp. A plaque in his home proudly displays a US patent that he received while employed at Burndy. Len married in 1947 and had a warm and loving marriage for 58 years to Marcelle Bock who predeceased him in 2005. While in Connecticut they raised two girls, Victoria Ann and Helen Ruth. Len and Marceller retired to Tamarac, Florida and enjoyed warm sunny days together. Leonard moved to the Capital District to be closer to family after Marcelle's passing and resided first at the Beverwyck and then the Massry. His children, Victoria Wasserman and her husband William Wasserman of West Hartford, CT and Helen Ernst and her husband Richard Ernst of Delmar, NY, survive Leonard. He leaves behind three grandsons, Michael and David Ernst of Delmar, NY, and Charles Wasserman of West Hartford, CT, and a brother, Milton Bock of Albequque, NM. Services will be held out of town at the Star of David Chapel, North Lauderdale, FL.
