Obituary of Myron Greenberg
Myron (Mike) Greenberg, age 87 of Albany died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
He was born in Manhattan and graduated from Lafayette High School. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Navy. Mike was an insurance broker and long time owner of Mayflower Insurance Agency retiring at age 80.
He was an accomplished athlete whose successes included: an invitation to try out for the Olympic soccer team in the 1940s, winning many club championship golf titles at Shaker Ridge Country Club, a senior Albany County golf championship title, as well as having bowled a perfect 300 game.
Mike was predeceased in 2000 by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandi. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: June (Dan) Pekrol, Randi (Kevin) Barrell, and Lori (George) Andrews, his grandchildren: Jeniffer (Josh) Bedinotti, Jason (Kelly) Pekrol, Erin (Jeremy) Bishop, Megan Barrell, Stefanie Lista, and Brianne Lista, his great-grandaughters: Ella, Olivia, Tessa, and Anne. He is also survived by his dear friend of many years, Felice Feldman. Mike was also blessed to have many wonderful and supportive lifelong friends.
Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road, Albany, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 10:30am. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth cemetery in Loudonville.
The period of mourning will be observed at the Pekrol residence at 1 Country Woods Drive, Nyskayuna, NY, Wednesday and Thursday evening from 7pm until 9pm.
