I had the great pleasure and honor to know and work with Sy when he was a pharmacist in Glens Falls,NY.He was a great inspiration to all who knew him.His super intelligence was matched by his kindness and compassion to all,the good and not so good alike.I had not seen him for many years, but he will always be remembered as one of the finest people I have ever met.

Seymour Rabinowitz was the definition of kind. He lost his parents at a young age and along with his sister was raised by Uncle Abe and Aunt Dot Schwartzberg, my grandparents. In return, he spent much of his life caring for his uncle and aunt as they were aging until they passed. He then cared for his sister Gloria once her husband passed and together they watched over each other until health issues plagued them both. Seymour served in the Army at the time of the Korean war and graduated from Columbia University as a Pharmacist. He had a mind for details, including dates and events. If only he had the opportunity to play Jeopardy, he would have been rich. However, he was rich in kindness. He never expected anything from anyone or complain about anything. His appreciation was greatest when Mychele Bendetti came in to their lives. She agreed to be their caretaker and became a loyal and loving friend as she cared for both of them along with her family. Our family thanks you, Mychele.

Although your work on earth is done
Your life in heaven has just begun.
Your struggles here were hard and long
But they're over now, you're finally home.
Life wasn't easy, by choice or fate
A decision made, sometimes too late.
A fight to the finish, always strong
Rest easy Seymour, you're finally home.
