I am ever so grateful that i reconnected with you sid, after so many years. I always looked forward to seeing you and sharing a table at the jcc over the past few years together with my parents when i visited from israel. Always enjoyed your intellect , interest and warmth. Just like in the days gone by when as kids we frequented the pharmacy always receiving a warm welcome despite the reality that we probably drove you crazy! You were a fixture of our childhood. You are missed already.

I fondly remember my visits to Kessler's pharmacy when I was a medical student in Albany and my later visits over the years to Temple Israel, when I could always count on a warm greeting from Sid followed by his genuine interest in my family. He will be missed. May his family be consoled among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I was Sidney's Tampa Ave. backyard neighbor for many yrs. I had always known him quite well over the yrs. through the pharmacy, but I was privileged and treated by Sidney to an open invitation to use his swimming pool for many yrs. He knew that I had a bad back and that I enjoyed the water. I used it a great deal during the summer months and loved having this available. During the wk., it often felt like my own private pool. Years back, Sidney would come outside and we would schmooze about matters mostly involving the local Jewish community. His knowledge and attachment to this community were all encompassing, and I used to enjoy these chats. I am sure he did as well.
His was a great presence for so many people, as was beautifully noted at the service this morning at Temple Israel. He will be greatly missed, and his absence from the community will surely be felt in a strong and meaningful way. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dearest Sheril, Rhonda, Marla, Gary, and family.. I was so deeply saddened to hear about your dear father's sudden passing. Your dad was a great man; full of integrity and character and always a wonderful example of doing what was right. I was so glad that I was able to know him. He was so kind to me, always interested in me and my family. Of the over 30 years I have known you Sheril, I will always have fond memories of your dad, and how very much he loved you. My heartfelt condolences to all of you and may the memories of how he lived his life bring you comfort during this very difficult time. You have so much to be proud of.. in both of your parents. You are all in my heart and my prayers. May he rest in peace. Much Love.

Rhonda,Sheril,Gary and Marla -
We are saddened by your loss, Our family exists because of the pharmacy your father and uncle created and worked tirelessly to continue. To describe it as a landmark is an understatement because it involved your family and many others, it was more of a well respected society and community that provided jobs, counseling, careers , and an example of what decent human beings should be without regard to where you came from , He was a pillar of society and demanded respect that he deserved. Thank you for being part of our lives. He will always be remembered.

I was deeply saddened to read of the loss of Sid. I've known him since I was very young and he was indeed part of my growing up. His kindness and understanding to me as a kid was so appreciated but it was the kindness and understanding that he expressed to my parents as they became elderly and infirm that truly set him apart. No better man existed and we were all blessed to have known him.

We were so saddened to learn of Sid's passing. We knew him for 25 years. He was a wonderful, kind giving man. He would happily teach the patients I sent him how to check their blood sugars and was a valuable resource to them. More importantly, he was just the nicest guy and you always smiled when you ran into him. So sorry for your loss!
