Obituary of Florence Cohn
Florence Elitzer Cohn, died on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her residence. Born on, November 4, 1919 in Tannersville, NY, and was the daughter of Dora and Israel Elitzer. Florence married A. William Cohn in 1944 and they were married until his death in 1992. They moved to Glens Falls, NY in 1952 and were the founders and co-owners of Honigsbaum’s, Inc. of Glens Falls. Florence was a longtime member of Temple Beth-El of Glens Falls, NY and later a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany, NY.
Florence is survived by her loving daughters, Abby Voluse of Bend, Oregon, Laurie Cohn of Hyde Park, NY and Cathy Cohn of Clifton Park, NY. Grandmother of Steven Voluse and wife Karla of Denver, Colorado and Andrew Voluse of Jackson, MS. Great grandmother of Kendall Voluse of Denver, Colorado. Sister-in –law of Margie Elitzer of East Greenbush, NY, brother –in- law Bennett Patrick and Linda of Queensbury, NY . She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence was predeceased by her siblings, Miriam Olshansky, Hillard Elitzer, Alvin Elitzer and Harriet Patrick.
Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road Albany, NY on Tuesday February 10, 2015 at 11am. Interment will follow in the Beth El Cemetery, Glens Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, (www.macular.org
