Obituary of Orrey Rosen
Orrey Rosen, born in Utica, NY, died on January 25 at age 88. He was the son of Sam and Minnie Rosen. Orrey graduated from Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn as a graphic designer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Osaka, Japan during the Allied occupation. He was a proud member of the Albany Chapter of the Jewish American War Veterans. Orrey was employed as an art director at General Electric for most of his career, retiring at age 65. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoutly religious man who practiced his faith his whole life. Orrey was a member of Congregation Beth Israel for over 60 years and served on its board of directors for many years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Razil and his brothers Alfred and Erwin Rosen. He is survived by his sons Steve (Helen Zamboni) and Randy (Hedda), his granddaughter Jennifer Rosen, grandsons Christopher Ball, Alex (Rhiannon) Rosen, his great grandchildren Ayden and Gianna, and his sister Lila (Jerry) Klion and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to be held at Beth Israel Cemetery Chapel, Abbotsford Road, Rotterdam, on Thursday, January 29, at 11:30 In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady, NY 12309.
