I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Max for many years at Environmental Conservation and he was the sweetest man I knew there. I always appreciated his sense of humor and we had a running joke about ballet slippers which started with a certain pair of shoes I wore to work one day and Max liked them; from that day one he always asked where my ballet slippers were every time we saw each other. He was a dear friend and I am sure he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

To the three sons of
Max Goldman
Men although I never knew or met your
great father, I would have liked too.
I read his obits in the Times Union on him
today. What an outstanding man he must have
been. He did so much, with so little! This is the
type of man people should be idolizing.
Wish I knew him

Dear Paul and Goldman Family,
I had the pleasure to work with Max for several years at DEC. He always asked about my family and seemed to really care for their wellbeing. Reading your obituary, I realize that toMax, family was of the utmost importance. He was always gentle and professional with a twinkle of humor. I am sorry for your loss, I know he was tremendously influential in your lives.

Max was a human being of the first order, and I had the high honor and distinct privilege of working with him at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, although his obituary makes it perfectly clear that this phase of his working career was more about leisurely public service than actually working! He was Max to the end....proud to have known him.

Dear Goldman Family: The obituary for Max was one of the best and most heartfelt I have ever seen-kudos to all of you for bringing Max's life out in such great detail. It was my luck and pleasure to work with him and count him as a friend. From the obit I was able to see better Max's life and how he and I interacted. thanks for making this long obit really describe his full life-things I did not know but now treasure in his memory.. What a great life lived!!! It is always a joy to bike with Dave even if I can't hang with him I like being on the same ride as he. We are all so very fortunate and lucky to have people like Max in our past as we invent, every day, how to move into the future and live better.
All best,
Dick Gibbs
