Obituary of Jay Thompson

Jay Jeffrey Thompson, 64, of Tucson, Arizona passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Jay was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Albany when he was 8 years of age. He grew up in Albany, attended P.S. 19 and graduated Albany High School. He attended SUNY Albany for 2 years and then moved to Tucson where he eared his BA degree from the University of Arizona. Jay returned to Albany for several years where he was a sportscaster for radio station, WABY . Jay returned to Arizona where he worked in sales. Jay is survived by his brother Scott, of New York City, his nephews Jeremy Thompson of Norwalk, Connecticut and Evan Thompson of Los Angeles, California and his uncles Charles Korn of New York City, Seymour Plitnick of Hollywood, Florida, and his cousins Helaine Banner and Karen Traverso of Pennsylvania, and his aunt Elaine, as well as cousins Gary and Howard Korn of New Jersey. Private graveside services will be held at the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY Those wishing to remember Jay in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Sidney Albert Jewish Community Center 360 Whitehall Road, Albany, NY 12208 or a charity of your choice.
