Obituary of Jeanne Fischer
ALBANY Jeanne ( Greene) Fischer of Albany died peacefully Wednesday, April 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanne was the beloved daughter of May and Mitchell Greene. Born in New York, New York, September 28, 1914, and raised in Detroit, Jeanne attended the University of Michigan. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry (Hy), of 45 years. Jeanne was devoted to her daughter, Audrey Kibrick, grandchildren, Madeline Kauffman (Bret), Steven Kibrick (Judy), Eileen O'Grady (Michael) and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Michelle, Mitchell, Blake, Joshua, Justin and Hayley.
A dedicated volunteer, Jeanne was active in Hadassah and headed the Sunshine Committee of Ohav Shalom. She loved to paint and to sing with her brother Bernie. To her family she was a symbol of strength, perseverance, and determination. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Teresian House.
Service at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Congregation Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Schenectady. The family will receive visitors at the home of Madeline and Bret Kauffman, 504 Sir Charles Way, Albany on Friday afternoon following the service.
