Obituary of Miriam Weintraub
Miriam Kahn Weintraub, age 103 of Germantown, New York died on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her residence. Born in Albany, Mrs. Weintraub was a graduate of the Albany High School. She married her husband, Benjamin in 1932 and later settled in Queens, NY where she raised her family. Miriam later moved to South Palm Beach, Florida where she had been employed as a saleslady for the Pavillon Lingerie Store in Lake Worth, Florida later becoming their bookkeeper, retiring at age 87. Miriam moved to Germantown, NY in 2007 to reside with her son, Myles and daughter in law, Tinny and remained with them until her passing She was an avid reader.
Miriam was married to Benjamin Weintraub(Architect) until his passing in 1976 and was the daughter of the late Morris Kahn and Jennie Milstein Kahn. She was the loving Mother of Myles Weintraub(Architect) and his wife Tinny of Germantown, NY and NYC. Grandmother of Vannesa Houghtlin of Saranac Lake, NY and James Houghtlin of Newton Highlands, Massachusetts. . Great grandmother of Elodie, Sylvie, and Daven Linck, Gus and Ella Houghtlin. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Miriam was predeceased by her daughter, Linda, Weintraub, sisters, Pearl Symansky and Sally Filin and brothers, Sidney and Howard Kahn.
Services at the Ohav Shalom Cemetery, Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 10:30am. Those wishing to remember Miriam in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Community Hospice of Columbia/ Greene, 47 Liberty Street Catskill, NY 12414.
