Obituary of Eleanor Finkelstein
FINKELSTEIN
Eleanor Rosenblatt Finkelstein, age 80 of Whitehall Road in Albany died on Monday morning, July 11, 2011 at the Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Eleanor was an Albany resident for more than 40 years. She was a founding member of B'nai Sholom Reform Congregation in Albany. Eleanor was very active with volunteer work, volunteering her time at St. Peter's Hospital and the Senior Adult Program at the Albany Jewish Community Center.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Marvin Finkelstein in 1987. She is survived by a sister, Bernice Samuels of California, nieces, Janet Marx of Pa, Judy Flickenger of Delaware, Betsy Haubrich of California and a nephew; Phillip Samuels of Pa. Services and interment were held in the Hebrew Tailors Cemetery in Guilderland, NY on Wednesday July 13, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the B'nai Sholom Reform Congregation 420 Whitehall Road in Albany. All are welcome to attend. Those wishing to remember Eleanor in a special way may make a memorial contriribution to B'nai Sholom Reform Congregation.
