Obituary of Barbara Silverman

BARBARA BRISKMAN SILVERMAN Barbara Briskman Silverman, age 75, of Delray Beach, Florida died on Monday morning July 25, 2011 at her residence. Barbara was born in Albany, NY where she resided most of her life until moving to Florida in the year 2001. She was a graduate of the Albany High School and the State University of New York at New Paltz. Barbara was employed for more than 30 years as a substitute teacher in the Albany Public School District. She was a member of the Independent Benevolent Society in Albany and various cancer support groups in Florida. She is survived by her husband Marvin Silverman and a son , Alan Silverman and his wife Susan of Plantation, Florida. Grandmother of Corey Silverman and Kalen Reddy. Aunt of Chad Kelman and his wife Michelle and their children Lucas, Ben, and Alexa; Jonathon Kelman and his wife Georgiana and their children Brandon, Jack and Cristian; Robyn and her husband Blair Fuller and their daughter Lily. Sister-in-law of Norman and Marcia Silverman of Naples, Florida. Barbara was pre deceased by her parents, Leonard and Lillian Briskman, her step mother, Ruth Briskman, her son, Carl; her sister, Joni Kelman and her mother and father-in-law, Harry and Lillian Silverman. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, Guilderland, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Elaine and Paul Scher, 10 Fairway Court, Albany on Wednesday following the service of Interment and Thursday evening from 6:00-9:00 PM.
