MIRIAM WARSHAW
1914-2011
Miriam Warshaw, age 96 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center died on Saturday morning, July 23, 2011 at the home. Born in Albany, NY, Miriam graduated from Public School # 14 in Albany and was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1932. She had been employed as a secretary for the New York State Dept of Audit and Control and had also been employed as the secretary for former comptroller Arthur Levitt at one time. Miriam was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham Jacob and a life member of Hadassah in Albany.
Miriam was married to Irving Warshaw until his passing in 1990.She is the beloved mother of Mrs. Sheldon ( Ann) Lippman of Albany and Mrs. Stanley ( Cheryl) Lituchy of Marietta, Georgia. Cherished grandmother of Jill Simon and her husband Scott of Omaha, Nebraska, Brian Lippman and his wife Wendy of Salem, Ma, and Beth Carey and her husband Jason of Athens, Georgia. Adored " Bubbe" of Jake and Amanda Simon. She also leaves nieces and nephews. Miriam was predeceased by a sister, Yvette Dreisenstock and a brother, Nathaniel Alexander.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 12 noon.. Interment will follow services in the Beth Abraham Jacob Cemetery on Fuller Road in Guilderland, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Sheldon and Ann Lippman, 12 Tioga Terrace in Albany on Monday following the service of interment and also on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those wishing to remember Miriam in a special way may make a memorial contribution the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Avenue Ext.
