1928-2011
RENSSELAER, NEW YORK
Raymond Berger, age 83 of Rensselaer, NY died suddenly on Friday July 1, 2011 at the Albany Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Berger was a lifelong New York State resident. He was a graduate of NYU where he received his Masters degree. Raymond provided vocational training for handicapped adults. He was an Army veteran and served in Korea. Raymond was a member of the Knights of Pythias in Brooklyn and sang with the RSVP group which provided entertainment to seniors in local hospitals and nursing homes. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, piano and accordion.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Florence Dentz Berger , 3 sons, Philip ( Lisa) Berger of Vancouver, Washington, Edward ( Elizabeth) Berger of North Greenbush, NY and Daniel Berger of Nassau, NY and a daughter, Karen Tuttle and her husband William of San Francisco, California. Brother of Carol Goldsmith of Delray Beach, Florida. Loving grandfather of Jamie, Emma Grace, Henry, Margaret, Benjamin, Aaron, Miki, Ally Berger and Charles and Marlow Tuttle. Great grandfather of Jaden.
Services will be held in the Mendleson Chapel, located on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville, NY on Sunday July 3, 2011 at 11:00am.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
