Obituary of Selma Cohen

Selma Cohen of Bayside Queens died on June 11 peacefully in her home that she shared with her husband Albert (Abe) Cohen for over 50 years. Abe and Selma celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past February. In addition to her husband Abe, she is survived by her four children Henry (Pam), Ellen, Danny (Nancy) all of Westchester and Jeff (Debbie) of Slingerlands. Selma also has 7 loving grandchildren JIllian, Sam, Matthew,Jessica, Ashley, Lizzy and Angelo. Selma spent her life caring about those less fortunate, volunteering her time and helping those in need. Her entire professional career was spent as a social worker in the New York City public hospital system. The burial took place on Sunday, June 12th in Queens. Jeff and Debbie will be receiving visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday June 14, 15, and 16 at their home at 24 Cayuga Court Slingerlands from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM each day.Those wishing to remember Selma in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Congregation Ohav Shalom Capital Campaign Fund, 113 New Krumkill Road Albany, NY 12208
