Steve: Sincerest condolences upon the loss of your dear dad, Murray. He was a true gentleman. May he rest eternally in dignity and peace. My letter to your dad April 2, 2012 Dear Murray, It is no coincidence that you passed away the day after Shabbat Gadol right before Passover. Many people believe that Shabbat Gadol is the longest Shabbat of the year. It was definitley an enormously long day of worry and concern for Steven, your medical team, relatives, and me as we prayed you would gain your full stength back as you had amazingly done so many times before and once again hear you tell us you loved us. In your weakened state, you amazingly let us know in such a loving fashion that you were not in pain and were feeling better. You also told Steven you loved him. How strong, loving, and selfless you continued to be until your last breaths. You were a true gentleman and role model. It was also on this Sabbath day that many people believe that the Jewish people returned to their commitment and faith in G-d. The people who embraced G-d as you did earned the title that you too deserve, that of Gadol. The upcoming Passover season causes us to reflect on the difficult journey and obstacles that the Jews faced over forty years getting to the Promised Land, seeking a better life. Just as the Jew suffered under Pharoh, you too, Murray, suffered through many medical obstacles over 40 years on your journey. You now have reached a higher place, one with no suffering and no obstacles. No more worries of insulin syringes , medical procedures, surgeries, or medical issues. May you rest in peace, Murray. I will always remember the fun times we shared in Brooklynand in Albany with your amazing sense of humor. You alwys made me laugh. It is also no coincidence that you passed away on April Fools Day. You always wanted to make people smile but you fooled us the day you died and even the skies cried with rain showers in Albany. I remember your loving memories of your wife, Esther, and how you told me many times that the greatest gift that Esther ever gave you was Steven. This is so true. You are both so lucky to have each other..and Esther's gift was the gift that keeps on giving as my knowing Steven led me to be part of your life - a true gift to me indeed. Murray, you will live on in the hearts of many, including mine. I will relay the message you were so happy to say to your medical staff and visitors that I know you would want to say to all who are here for you today: and that is "love ya!" Murray, may you rest eternally in dignity and peace..."love ya!" Love, Fran
