Obituary of Esther Finkelstein Lessner

Esther Finkelstein Lessner, age 86 of Gainesville, Florida formerly of Dorwaldt Blvd in Schenectady, NY died Sunday morning, June 5, 2011 at her residence. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Isadore and Sarah Levine Finkelstein. Esther had been employed a Secretary to the Chancellor,State of New York Department of Education and was retired. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady. Esther was married to Lorimer Lessner until his passing. Mother of Alan M. Lessner, M.D. and his wife Cathy A. Lessner of Gainesville, Florida. Sister of Marion Goldberg of Schenectady, NY and Selma Sahr of Niskayuna, NY. Grandmother of Erin B. Lessner, M.D. and Rebecca A. Lessner of Gainesville, Florida. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by her sister, Julie Ettenger and her niece, Linda Weingarten. She will be missed and loved forever by all. Services at the Beth Israel Cemetery Chapel, Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam, NY on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:00am. . Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery.
