Obituary of Bernard Goldberg
BERNARD GOLDBERG
1920-2011
Bernard Goldberg, age 91 of Prospect Terrace, Albany, NY died on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Mr. Goldberg was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided for several years in Manhattan, the Bronx and has been a resident of Albany for 53 years. He and his brothers and sister owned and operated the former New York Bakery which was an Albany landmark for many years. They also owned bakeries in Manhattan and the Bronx. Bernard worked as a head baker at Russell Sage College in Troy for more than 10 years. He was an Army veteran and served in World War II.
He was married to Adela Haimowitz Goldberg for 64 years until her passing in 2008. Loving father of Randy Goldberg of Albany and Sandi Alexander of Guilderland, NY. He also is survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bernard was predeceased by his son, Robert Goldberg.
