Obituary of Gladys Graubart

GLADYS GRAUBART 1917-2011 Gladys Klein Graubart, age 94 of Andover, Massachusetts former long time Schenectady resident died on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. Born in Grassy Point, NY, Mrs. Graubart graduated from the Poughkeepsie High School. She had been the proprietor of the former Gladys Shop in Schenectady. Gladys was a former member and served on the Board of the Schenectady Boy's Club. She had been the recipient of the Bronze Service Award presented by the Boy's Club of America, a life member of Hadassah as well as the Brandeis University Alumni. She had been past co chairperson of the United Way of Schenectady, past chairperson of the United Jewish Appeal and past membership chairperson of the Schenectady JCC. Gladys was also a member of Congregation Agudat Achim. She was married to Walter Graubart until his passing in 2003. She is survived by 2 daughters, Beth Oksa of Schenectady and Heidi Gallivan of Methuen, Massachusetts. Grandmother of Miesha Oksa, Heather, Daniel and Ashley Gallivan. Services at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street Schenectady, NY on Thursday April 28, 2011 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Agudat Achim Cemetery in Rotterdam, NY.
