Obituary of Mikhail Khaitov
MIKHAIL KHAITOV
1925-2011
Mikhail Khaitov, age 85 of Albany, NY died on Monday evening, April 18, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in the Ukraine, Mr. Khaitov came to the US in 1990. While residing in Russia he was employed from 1951 to 1989 as a jeweler and engraver in the city of Poltava. Mikhail proudly served in the Russian Army during World War II, serving in the Far East. He had been the recipient of a medal of honor from the Russian military as well as the US military. He was an avid reader and was always versed and up to date on current affairs. Mikhail will be remembered as a hard working man, and enjoyed working so much he felt a void after his retirement. He was an extremely family oriented individual who provided for his family through difficult times and supported them to continue their education.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Polina and was the cherished father of Grigory Khaitov and his wife Margarita of Albany, NY and Kira George of Slingerlands, NY. Brother of Golda Dubinskaya of Ukraine. Adored grandfather of
Milena Shulman, Anna Brown, Boris Kaplunowskiy, Irina Kasparov and Mikhail Khaitov. He was predeceased by his son, Boris Khaitov in 1993 and a brother Alik Khaitov.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany, NY on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY.
